Fibromyalgia Support Groups

Living with fibromyalgia is not always easy. Some days are pretty good and the pain you feel may have gone into remission. Sometime the pain may have lessened enough to let you do the things you used to enjoy before you came down with this syndrome. Then there will be days where it seems nothing is working and you don't want to get out of bed.

This can be a lonely disease because there is not much public awareness of what it is about. Many people still think this is an illness in one's head and are unsympathetic when one has flare ups (symptomatic). Sometimes even one's family can get frustrated because the family member is no longer able to do the things they used to do and everyone else has to pick up the slack. Close family and friends may feel helpless as all they can do is watch.

Support groups can be the needed buffer for those who suffer and for the families and friends. It offers an atmosphere of optimal support by a community of people who are familiar with what you may be experiencing. It can be a good place to research potential doctors, drugs and treatments. It is also a good place to have someone hear your voice of frustration and pain without judgments made in ignorance of the conditions you face.
