Ep. 5 - The Curse of Hestia

Hestia, mother of Enid Kenzie, filled a request on behalf of the Darkness to get a contract for the soul of a pathetic man who wanted the life of his dreams by throwing away the one thing that was real only to find out what he thought he wanted was bad and the good he could have had was destroyed by his actions.

Never in her life of eternity has she ever been hurt by the actions of the meaningless humans. From the time she decided to grace this planet to live as a queen in Babylon, she always knew it was wise to keep the company of those who naturally and honestly came about their wealth and well-being because if they were not needy they would never try to use her for her powers.

It is always those who had the mentality of lack that felt the need to horde what little they had and longed to take it from others which proved to be a danger to those who had powers. The lower classes have always run to someone else for answers and authority to live their lives and put their leaders on a pedestal only to knock them down when they don't get the results they require. Instead of living their lives the way they wish, they live in fear over what someone else tells them. In the end, they never get what they want because they do not understand the value of what they think is treasure.

As Hestia's daughter was killed for fulfillment of his selfishness, a curse was placed upon him, his wife and the town responsible for Enid's death.

"Powers of Darkness, hear my demands, may the wrath I feel in my heart be poured upon the town of Kensington for the death of my precious Enid. May all who were involved in her suffering also suffer the pain she felt and may the generations to follow feel the heat of my anger.

"To Wayne Brecklin, as he is the one I hold most responsible in the unhappiness and demise of my precious one, may what little life he has on this planet be one filled in misery. May he see the true nature of all he claims to love so his heart may always break. May his dreams always fall short of the expectation. May he always look over his shoulder and live his life in fear. May he live his life filled with regret and woe as all he loves leaves him. May his days be so weary that he wishes for a death that cannot come soon enough and his last days are extended in pain.

"To Gail Gannette-Brecklin, the temptress who seduced a man into an act to hurt my dear one, may she finally be exposed for the person she is as her family and friends turn her back on her, she feels the hatred she put upon my daughter, and is run out of town to die a painful death to be banished in eternal damnation for her evil acts upon this earth.

"To Pierre Gannette, a half-breed near-immortal, he thinks he is full of power and can do whatever he will without having to answer to anyone will suddenly realise there are others more powerful who can cut him down. Should he ever cause any harm to my dear Agatha, the full wrath of my power will be on him for an instant and unending painful life that will make him long for a death that cannot come fast enough for him until his soul is required. May his evil acts upon an equal bar him from the kindness of the Void and place him in eternal damnation.

"To the angry mob directly responsible for the death of my daughter, may all their secrets be out in the open and they suffer the humiliation they so deserve. May their hypocrisy be exposed to cause the eternal suffering and mistrust of the people who live in this town.

"I place this curse upon this generation living in Kensington Falls and for every generation forever more.

"Anyone who will abide in Kensington Falls without the protection from this spell will suffer my wrath. They can never move from this town to escape the pain and should they attempt to leave, they will surely die a horrible death and go straight to eternal damnation. The only ones in town who may escape this fate are those who acknowledge the sins of the fathers of the community and make amends."

As she cast her spell upon the town, she took little Agatha into a remote area of the woods and raised her among the creatures of nature, far away from the prying eyes of the townsfolk trying to forget the evil they have committed while pretending they are holy, going to their church services on a regular basis, but sinning during the week. This town owed Agatha and one day Hestia would see they paid their debt to her.
