Erased

Take a tape filled with memories

Press the button and erase

Forget it all if you want

But what if you didn't

What if you know it's there

But it's been erased

On the tip of your tongue

You want to speak it

You cannot because it's there

But it's also gone

Just a blank

One that you know was there.

You know it happened,

You can't prove it did.

To say for sure would end it

To linger in doubt it stays.
