The Canvas

It's a canvas I use

To express the feelings

I cannot say.

Bright color red

So warm it spreads

Speaks for me.

I look at my work

In awe and in shame

Wondering how to hide

My latest masterpiece

Critics don't get it.

How deep is the love

How deep is the pain

How deep is the vein

Prick it, slice it,

Decorate the canvas

Feel the shame.
